勢不可擋 2024至2025賽季中國女子籃球聯賽發布會在北京盛大揭幕

2024-2025 WCBA Chinese Women's basketball league season press conference was held in Beijing on November 8th.

Guo Zhenming, Chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association and Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association of the Basketball Center of the State Sports General Administration, Xu Jicheng, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, Xu Lan, Secretary General of the Chinese Basketball Association, Xiao Hong'an, Minister of the Competition Department of the Chinese Basketball Association, Wang Xin, Deputy Minister of the Information and Registration Department of the Chinese Basketball Association, Yan Xiaoming, General Manager of Deep Basketball (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Club General Managers, player and coach representatives, league sponsor representatives, hosting representatives and media friends attended the conference to witness the new upgrade of the league and look forward to a bright future together.

Guo Zhenming, Chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association and Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association of the Basketball Center of the State Sports General Administration, first expressed sincere gratitude to all sectors of the WCBA league. He said, "The revitalization of the 'three major balls' is an important sign of the construction of a sports power. The WCBA league carries the important mission of promoting the popularization and development of women's basketball and improving the competitive level of women's basketball. We need to consolidate on the basis of existing achievements, adhere to the right path, innovate, clarify the direction, unify our thoughts, form a joint force, and continue to strive." He also emphasized the importance of fair play and discipline management, hoping that all parties would abide by the rules, respect the referees, respect the opponents, respect the fans, promote the spirit of Chinese sports, and create a clean and positive league environment and a healthy and positive cultural atmosphere.

Xiao Hong'an, Minister of the Competition Department of the Chinese Basketball Association, introduced the new schedule and competition system for the 2024-2025 WCBA league season. The new season of the league expanded to 21 clubs, and the competition system was divided into Group A and Group B. The number of matches between strong teams increased, and teams of similar level had more opportunities to compete against each other. In terms of international players, all clubs can have a maximum of 3 players and 4 quarters for a total of 7 substitutions. The increased number of international players added to the intensity of the matches and made the games more attractive (see more information in the following additional information). The new system created a more fair competition platform, and more teams had the opportunity to participate in the playoffs, which further improved the overall level of competition and increased the brand influence of the WCBA.

As an outstanding representative of the previous season's hosting area, Yu Yang, Deputy Director of the Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Changshu City, shared the hosting experience of the area. Tang Yu, a player from the Beijing Shougang Women's Basketball Team, represented the league players and interacted with the host, expressing her anticipation for the new season.

The development of the WCBA league is inseparable from the joint efforts of league partners. At the press conference, Deep Basketball and league partners Peak Sports, sponsors Hongkang Sports, Spalding, Yi-Bao, Yao Foundation, and service organization Genjian Sports held signing ceremonies.

The "WCBA Home" made a grand debut at the press conference. "WCBA Home" is an online interactive platform for league fans, with accounts on Weibo, Douyin, and Xiaohongshu. As an important measure for the innovative development of the league, from fan interaction and information release to event promotion, "WCBA Home" will meet the needs of every fan in an all-round and multi-angle way, strengthen interaction with fans, and bring more excitement to the league.
