25th November: In the aftermath of Liverpool's 3-2 victory over Southampton yesterday, Mohamed Salah expressed in an interview that the possibility of him leaving Liverpool is higher than him staying, as he has not yet received a contract extension offer.
Salah: "It's already close to December now, but I haven't received any offers to stay at the club. The possibility of me leaving is greater. As you know, I have spent many years at this club and there is no club that can compare to this one, but ultimately, it is not in my hands. As I said before, it's December now and I haven't received any news about my future.
"I love the fans and the fans love me. But ultimately, it doesn't depend on me or the fans. Let's wait and see."
When asked if he is disappointed about not receiving an offer at this stage, Salah added: "Of course, yes. I won't retire soon, so I'm just playing football, focused on this season and striving to win the Premier League, and hopefully the Champions League as well. I am disappointed, but let's see."
When asked about interest from the Saudi league, Salah said, "I don't want to talk about that. Right now, I am focused on the team. I am professional, and everyone can see my professionalism. I just want to enjoy football. I will play at the top level for as long as possible, that's just what I do. I give my all for myself and the club, and we'll see what happens next."
Salah, 32 years old, will turn 33 next summer when his contract with Liverpool expires. The contracts of key Liverpool players Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold are also set to expire next summer.
According to sources from Liverpool, the negotiations for a contract extension with Salah's agent are said to be positive and ongoing.
